WINGATE — Harry H. Gardiner, 79, retired grocer, died at 12:30 a.m. Monday at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville where he had been a patient for four days. Mr. Gardiner was a grocer in Wingate for many years prior to his retirement five years ago. Born March 21, 1874, in Mansfield, Ill., he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Gardiner. He was married many years ago to Mary Brown, who preceded him in death in 1936. Mr. Gardiner was a member of Mercer Masonic Lodge at Wingate and of the Wingate Methodist Church. The survivors include two brothers, David Gardiner of Wingate and Joe A. Gardiner of Santa Ana, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Lucy Young of Warrensburg, Mo. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at the Wingate Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Mr. McBride in charge. Burial will be in Carroll, Iowa. Friends may call at the home after Wednesday noon.
